Ms. Ursula Mackel, the Head of English thanked the company for giving the GCSE students an insight into how the play should be performed enabling the pupils to get a feel for the language of Shakespeare through this production live on stage in St Colm’s Assembly Hall.
“I feel that when the play is performed by actors live on stage then it really does come to life for the students. The pictures really do paint a thousand words and the pupils tend to get a much better grasp of it which is obviously important for the purpose of their GCSE English course.”
An interactive workshop with the cast of the play was held immediately after the performance. This also proved to be extremely beneficial for both the GCSE students and the A-Level Performing Arts students who were able to ask the cast about the play, the characters and indeed about their vocation as actors. All in all a very successful and productive time was had by all.
