All Year 8 pupils thoroughly enjoyed a challenging session with Amazing Brains today and demonstrated their ‘Growth Mindset’ to the fullest. Our parents also had the opportunity to ‘grow their brains’ with Parent Power. Our Year 12 pupils had a fantastic morning with Tom from Amazing Brains who delivered the 'Drive for Results' master class. All pupils were engaged in practical, meaningful and relevant activities and it helped the students discover the merits of active learning, the importance of perseverance and the role of a 'can do' attitude. The students also had the opportunity to develop study techniques and strategies essential for success.
St. Colm’s year 10 students recently took part in the Young Enterprise
Northern Ireland ‘Project Business’ programme. Joel White from Young Enterprise led the workshops to enable the students to
explore a range of business concepts, including the role of the consumer,
supply and demand, the market economy, and savings and investments.
Students were intrigued by the real life experiences of James Magee, a local
entrepreneur who has had success with Barbering and Virtual Reality
business!! Two very different markets – but both requiring someone with an
eye for a gap in the market!
