On Tues 26th Feb Mr Bohill’s Yr11 ICT class visited the Whitla Hall ar QUB to participate in the annual Digital Youth Event, organised by Digital South and sponsored by Deloitte.
The aim of the event was to inspire young people to consider innovative career options in the digital/creative sector in a variety of fields including animation, gaming, artificial intelligence, virtual reality, digital marketing and cyber security to name but a few.
Twenty five local, forward thinking & innovative business in the digital & tech sector demonstrated and explained to the pupils what the tech sector has to offer.
Pupils had a chance to try many new technologies for themselves as well as find out about career pathways into these industries when meeting business leaders and digital experts. Pupils realised that work in this field was more than just programming and writing code. So many opportunities are available and it is up to our young people to make the future happen.
