Your Health is Your Wealth at St Colm’s High School
St Colm’s High School in Twinbrook hosted a ‘Healthy Lifestyles Day’ on Wednesday 23rd October. Pupils completed healthy living activities within relevant areas of learning during the first term and this work was displayed in the Assembly Hall. To celebrate the work and reinforce the learning, various external agencies were invited to school. The pupils experienced a range of interactive displays and activities engaging the pupils in learning whilst promoting the development of their self confidence. We very much appreciate the involvement of the following organisations: Action Cancer, St John’s Ambulance, Chest Heart and Stroke Association, Belfast City Council, Ascert, Mennsanna and South Eastern Trust
Principal, Mr Adrian Walsh said ‘it is vitally important for our young people to have the opportunity to develop their skills through engagement with community and statutory organisations and also to enjoy and have fun while learning.’
The pupils thoroughly enjoyed the cooking element of the day where they prepared and cooked a healthy stir fry meal and to finish off the day they enjoyed a range of physical activity sessions organised by the PE Department and Fitness Freddy. . A huge thank you to all our sponsors, LIDL, Tesco and Asda.
An enjoyable and informative day was had by all!
