St Colm’s was extremely proud to be recently awarded School of Sanctuary status. Ursula Mackel, coordinator stated; “We believe that St Colm’s has always provided sanctuary for those students in our care, but the welcome addition of students from other parts of the world such as Syria and Somalia has encouraged us to look at ways of celebrating and valuing diversity.” St Colm’s undertook its journey to become a school of Sanctuary in 2019 and has focused on ensuring that the school is a place of safety where everyone is welcomed and included, and where all cultures are valued equally.
